About Our Riding School

The Cattran family lies at the heart of Newton Equestrian. With deep roots in Mullion, they dairy farmed on the land for many years before making a bold decision in 2000 to diversify and pursue their passion for horses. That year, they rescued their first pony, Pip, saving her from a neglected life in a field where she was sadly taunted by local children. Under the family's care, Pip thrived, becoming a beloved teacher who introduced countless children to the joy of riding before her well-earned retirement in 2018. Led by Mr C F Cattran (holder of the Cornwall Council licence), the family has built a thriving, multi-faceted business blending equestrian activities with holiday cottages and leisure facilities.
